Some of the biggest laughs at Saturday’s Producers Guild Awards at the BevHilton came with the presentation of a Milestone Award to Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Robert De Niro recalled being asked by the brothers about “Silver Linings Playbook.”

“When they came to me with a movie about mental illness,” began the thesp, “I asked which brother do they want me to portray?”

Bob Weinstein led off by saying, “There isn’t a chance in hell I would be up here if it wasn’t for Harvey. That’s what he told me to say.” Later, he added, “It’s 60-40 that Harvey and I will have a fight before the night is out … But 100% we’ll make up by the morning.”

“I had no idea he was that funny!” said Harvey, who then delivered a shoutout to Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln”: “I love that movie and it’s a masterpiece!”

Working Title’s Eric Fellner, who received the David O. Selznick Achievement kudo along with partner Tim Bevan, recalled the banner’s humble origins, noting, “Thirty years ago, we were trolling the streets of Soho, dodging hookers, perverts and drug dealers — which prepared us for Hollywood.”
