Warner Bros. Acquires Rights to Richard Lange Novel ‘Angel Baby’

Studio is now out to producers

Warner Bros. has moved fast to acquire the rights to Richard Lange’s critically acclaimed tome “Angel Baby.”

No producer is attached yet but sources say several have already reached out to share their interest.

Lynn Harris will oversee for the studio.

Story revolves around the wife of a Mexican Drug Cartel leader, who escapes his compound in Tijuana with a backpack full if cash and a gun with the intent of reuniting with her young daughter in LA before her husband tracks her down.

According to early reviews from book critics there are several great roles including a strong female part in the vein of Lisbeth in “Girl With a Dragon Tattoo” and an edgy role of the head of the drug cartel which should have many actors interested.

This marks the first big book deal for Lange whose other book credits include “The Wicked World” and “Dream Boys.”

The deal was brokered by Sylvie Rabineau of RWSG Literary Agency on behalf of Henry Dunow, Carlson & Lerner Literary Agency.
