Universal to Release Legendary’s ‘Warcraft’ December 2015

Adaptation of Blizzard's videogame becomes the first film Universal will release for Legendary

Universal has dated Legendary Entertainment’s adaptation of the Blizzard Entertainment’s “World of Warcraft” games for a Dec. 18, 2015 release.

Legendary is in talks with Colin Farrell and Paula Patton to join the fantasy actioner, while it’s also eyeing Paul Dano, Travil Fimmel, Anson Mount and Anton Yelchin for roles.

Warcraft” will be the first film that Universal will release for Legendary under the companies’ new distribution and co-financing partnership.

Duncan Jones (“Source Code”) is helming the pic from a script by Charles Leavitt and Jones.

Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing along with Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. Stuart Fenegan, Jillian Share and Brent O’Connor will serve as executive producers, while Blizzard’s Chris Metzen will co-produce.
