Thriller going up against Paramount's 'Almanac'

Universal is landing Liam Neeson’s thriller “Non-Stop” on Feb. 21, 2014.

Neeson is portraying an air marshal on a transatlantic flight who receives a demand that he instruct the government to transfer $150 million into an offshore account — with a passenger killed every 20 minutes until the funds are transferred. Julianne Moore co-stars.

Jaume Collet-Serra directs the StudioCanal production, produced by Joel Silver, Andrew Rona and Steve Richards.

Non-Stop” will open against Paramount’s found-footage adventure “Almanac” with Jonny Weston and Sofia Black-D’Elia starring, produced by Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.
