Universal and Gold Circle have found the thesps to lead their “Search Party” with T.J. Miller, Adam Pally and Thomas Middleditch on board to star in the comedy.
Todd Phillips’ collaborator, Scott Armstrong is set to make his directorial debut and will rewrite the script. The original script was written by WME repped Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller and was featured on the 2010 blacklist.
Pic revolves around two roommates who go to serious lengths to save their friend who is stranded somewhere in Mexico.
Brooks will produce for Gold Circle with COO Scott Niemeyer executive producing. Neal H. Moritz will produce under his Original Film banner alongside Armstrong and Ravi Nandan for American Work.
Universal will distribute. U and Gold Circle had previously worked together on “Pitch Perfect,” with a script already in the works for a sequel after “Pitch Perfect” over-performed with more than $100 million at the worldwide B.O.
Miller is repped by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment, Middleditch is repped by WME and manager Kirsten Ames and Pally is represented by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
Armstrong is repped by CAA.
