“Mud” star Tye Sheridan has been cast opposite John Travolta in indie heist actioner “The Forger” with shooting starting in Boston in October.
Philip Martin is directing. Code Entertainment’s Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso will produce the film, along with Prospect Park’s Rob Carliner with Jonathan Dana, Randi Michel exec producing alongside The Solution’s Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson.
The Solution is handling international sales at the Toronto Int. Film Festival. WME Global and ICM Partners are handling domestic sales.
Script is penned by Richard D’Ovidio (“The Call”). Travolta portrays a former child art prodigy and second-generation petty thief who buys his way out of prison to spend time with his ailing son, (Sheridan) only to be forced to commit one last crime.
Sheridan made his feature film debut in Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life” and co-stars with Nicolas Cage in “Joe,” which will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and North American premiere at Toronto. He’s also due to begin filming “Dark Places” opposite Charlize Theron.
