Tribeca Enterprises Sets Lineup for Fashion in Film Event

Screenings presented Sept. 19-20 with DailyCandy highlight filmdom's haute couture

Tribeca Enterprises and DailyCandy have set the line-up for their inaugural Fashion in Film screening event, set for Sept. 19-20 in Gotham.

DailyCandy, the NBCUniversal-owned women’s website covering topics such as beauty, food and entertainment, commissioned two original short films produced by Tribeca, which will screen at the event and be available on DailyCandy’s mobile and online platforms. One is an untitled documentary by Christina Voros about fashion photographer Tommy Ton (pictured above), and the other, “Ivy Holland,” is a mockumentary about a stylist directed by Matt Lenski.

Happening in conjunction with the screenings will be panels, including conversations with costume designer Catherine Martin (pictured above), documentarian Albert Maysles and fashion icon Iris Apfel. There will also be screenings of Martin’s films, including “The Great Gatsby,” “Australia “ and “Moulin Rouge,” among other works with an emphasis on fashion.

DailyCandy will additionally host a contest from Aug, 20-Sept. 2 in which contestants can submit 15-second Instagram videos highlighting the influence of fashion in their lives for the chance to win  $1000 and have their shorts screened at the event.
