A24 is closing a deal for U.S. rights for Scarlett Johansson’s sci-fi thriller “Under the Skin,” a day after its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

The film, directed by Jonathan Glazer (“Sexy Beast”), stars Johansson as an alien seductress who seeks out hitchhikers.

Nick Wechsler and James Wilson are the producers on “Skin,” based on Michael Faber’s 2001 novel and adapted by Walter Campbell and Glazer.

“Skin” also screened at Telluride and Venice. Scott Foundas of Variety said in his review that the film was “undeniably ambitious but ultimately torpid.”

The deal came three days after A24 bought U.S. rights to Tom Hardy’s “Locke” for more than $1 million. CAA and WME are representing “Skin.”
