Magnet Releasing has set Ti West‘s thriller “The Sacrament” for a June 6 theatrical release in the U.S., and a VOD release on May 1.

Magnolia Pictures acquired U.S. rights to “The Sacrament” at the Toronto Film Festival. The film, which had its world premiere in Venice, follows two journalists shooting a doc about a man’s attempt to locate his missing sister. They find her in a rural cult preparing for a mass suicide.

It’s the sixth feature for West, who gained notice among genre fans with “The House of the Devil,” “Trigger Man” and “The Innkeepers.”

Producers are Eli Roth, Jacob Jaffke, Peter Phok, Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners. Woodrow’s Worldview Entertainment financed.

Joe Swanberg, AJ Bowen, Kentucker Audley, Amy Seimetz and Gene Jones star.
