A month before the start of the Sundance Film Festival, Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to Joe Callander’s short film “Tim and Susan Have Matching Handguns.”
The 95-second film will have its world premiere at Sundance as part of the short film documentary section .
Oscilloscope’s Dan Berger and David Laub said, “’Tim and Susan’ is a remarkably assured, economical, and entertaining film. Joe’s deft filmmaking and Tim and Susan’s undeniable connection will warm the cockles of your heart. We’re gonna figure out a way to put this film in front of your faces.”
Berger told Variety he’s intrigued by the challenge of getting the film out to audiences.
“We’ll be releasing both digitally and theatrically and want to explore new ways of bringing films to audiences,” he said. “We didn’t see the film being 95 seconds as a detriment, but rather something to embrace and be creative with.”
“Tim and Susan” was produced by Dave Munson and Saddleback Leather. Callander is Saddleback Leather’s filmmaker in residence.
