Sony Pictures has tapped Nancy Meyers to helm an untitled film for the studio.
The film revolves around a young American woman whose life gets turned upside down when she begins dating a very unlikely young man. Matt Tolmach and Meyers will produce with Meyers rewriting the script originally penned by Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber.
The pic will be set in the U.K. and besides its female lead, will feature a British cast.
“We are thrilled with the way this project has turned out and we’re especially excited that Nancy intends to make it her next film” said president of Columbia Pictures Doug Belgard. “This is the kind of movie that Nancy does better than anyone else and we can’t wait to share this new movie with audiences all over the world.”
Meyers previously worked with Sony on “The Holiday” and “Something’s Gotta Give.”
The CAA-repped Meyers’ last film was 2009’s “It’s Complicated.”
