Shailene Woodley Cut From ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’

Actress will appear in third installment

Looks like fans will have to wait a little longer to see Shailene Woodley play Mary Jane Watson, as the actress has been cut from “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

Woodley confirmed the news in an EW interview and will appear in the third film. She had only shot a couple days worth of work, so the footage cut is not that much and director Marc Webb has said the decision was made so more focus could be put on Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield) relationship with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone).

Aside from Garfield and Stone, Jamie Foxx joined the cast as the villain Electro.

Woodley, who is repped by Paradigm, the Savage Agency and Principato-Young Entertainment, can be seen next in A24 pic “The Spectacular Now.”

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” bows on May 2, 2014.
