Mc Manus has been with Film Independent for 15 years and served as co-president with Josh Welsh for a year and a half. Welsh will become president.
Mc Manus said he plans to take the next few months off and explore options.
He joined Film Independent in 1998 as development director and was promoted to senior director in 2006 and interim director in 2010, when the Los Angeles Film Festival moved to downtown from Westwood. Film Independent gave him credit for expansion of the organization’s annual budget from approximately $1.6 million to more than $8.5 million.
