‘Klown’ Scribes in Talks to Write ‘The Lesbian’ for Sacha Baron Cohen (EXCLUSIVE)

Baron Cohen would star in and produce Paramount pic

After seeing success from their cult comedy hit “Klown,” Danish scribes Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam are in negotiations to pen Paramount’s “The Lesbian” starring Sacha Baron Cohen.

Story is inspired by Cecil Chao, the Hong Kong billionaire who in September offered $65 million to any man who succeeded in marrying his lesbian daughter. Chao’s offer made international headlines last year following reports that his daughter had a French church bless her relationship with her longtime girlfriend. Baron Cohen will also produce.

Baron Cohen and Ant Hines penned the original treatment for the pic. Paramount had no comment.

So how much did Baron Cohen enjoy “Klown?”

So much that after seeing the pic, sources say Baron Cohen traveled to Denmark to seek out the writing duo so that they could pen his pic before committing to anything else.

The two had been developing a sequel to “Klown” but will work on that at a later date so they can focus on “The Lesbian” for Paramount.

Todd Phillips and Danny McBride are currently developing a remake of “Klown” with Phillips producing and McBride attached to star.

Christensen is repped by CAA and manager Jesper Zartov of Douglas Entertainment, and attorney Malene Raben.
