QED to handle ‘Breathe’ int’l distrib’n

Pic premiered at Sundance

QED International has come on board to handle international distribution in Berlin for Drake Doremus’ drama “Breathe In” on the heels of its Sundance premiere.

Jonathan Schwartz and Andrea Sperling of Super Crispy Entertainment produced, along with Steven Rales and Mark Roybal of Indian Paintbrush, which also financed. “Breathe In” centers on a foreign exchange student who arrives in a small upstate New York town, challenging the dynamics of her host family’s relationships. Movie, written by Doremus and Ben York Jones, stars Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones, Kyle MacLachlan, Brendan Dooling, Mackenzie Davis and Amy Ryan.

QED’s Berlin slate includes “Fading Gigolo,” “Are We Officially Dating?,” “Toy’s House,” “Ten” and “Haunt.”

The deal for “Breathe In” was negotiated on behalf of QED by Daniel Diamond. UTA Independent Film Group repped the filmmakers.
