Olga Kurylenko and Vincent Cassel’s ‘Momentum’ Gains Major Territories (EXCLUSIVE)

Olga Kurylenko and Vincent Cassel starrer “Momentum” is living up to its title in its international pre-sales roll out.

Launching “Momentum” at Toronto, Spain’s Moonrise Pictures has closed all Latin America with Swen Entertainment, plus Southeast Asia and two tough territories: Japan (Nikkatsu) and Spain (Second Gen).

Anton Ernst (“Out of Season”) is producing the action thriller via his Thaba Media label.

Co-starring Shea Whigham, “Momentum” marks the directorial debut of Stephen Campanelli, Clint Eastwood’s camera operator for the past 15 years.

Scandinavia, Italy and Germany are under negotiation.

Before Toronto, Moonrise licensed Andre Boissier’s Revolutionary Releases rights to the CIS, Eastern Europe and Turkey. Gulf Film closed the Middle East.

“We always knew that for an action film to get made we needed the blessing of the main markets where this type of product works so well,” said Moonrise’s Colette Aguilar. “We are delighted now that since launching the film at Toronto we’ve been able to pre-sell these territories to a great group of distributors.”

“Momentum” stars Kurylenko, who has signed for Russell Crowe’s directorial debut, “The Water Diviner,” as a wanted bank robber on the run from a death squad, led by Cassel’s character, after she stumbles across a key the assassins have to track down. Whigham limns her initial love interest.

Pre-production is set for Jan. 13, with principal photography slated for March 10 in South Africa.
