Deirdre O’Kane (“Intermission”) is toplining British biopic ‘Noble,” which launches production this week in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The film’s producers are Melanie Gore-Grimes and Stephen Bradley, with Michael J. Hunt as exec producer. Destiny Films is the production company for U.K. equity investment company Ansty Productions.
The local Vietnamese production partner is Star Films Asia. “Noble” will shoot in Vietnam for four weeks before moving to Liverpool in the U.K. until March 8.
Stephen Bradley (“Sweety Barrett”) is directing from his own script, centering on the life Christina Noble, who overcomes her own harsh childhood in Ireland to help street children and their families in Vietnam and Mongolia through the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation.
Brendan Coyle (“Downton Abbey”), Liam Cunningham (“Game of Thrones”), Ruth Negga (“Twelve Years a Slave”), Nhu Quynh Nguyen (“Pearls of the Far East”) and Sarah Greene also star.
O’Kane’s credits include “Intermission” and the Sky comedy “Moone Boy.”
