Nicolas Cage toplines indie thriller ‘Tokarev’

Nicolas Cage has come on board indie thriller “Tokarev” for Hannibal Classics with Paco Cabezas directing.

Lensing will start in May in Spokane, Wash. Hannibal Classics is handling worldwide sales and is selling the film in Berlin.

Hannibal’s Richard Rionda Del Castro will produce in association with North by Northwest Entertainment. Exec producers are Patricia Eberle, Richard Salvatore, Nicolas Cage, Mike Nilon, Hayley Magouirk, Jim Agnew, Sean Keller, Cam Cannon, David Milner and Martin J. Barab.

Tokarev,” written by the team of Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, centers on a former criminal searching for his daughter’s kidnappers and finding that slipping back into a violent life is often inevitable.

Cabezas made his feature film debut with the 2007 horror film “The Appeared,” and his “Neon Flesh” screened at the 2011 TriBeca Film Festival. Rionda Del Castro and Eberle’s recent credits include “Casino Jack,” “The Son of No One” and “Set Up.”

Cage was repped in the deal by CAA and Patrick Knapp of Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman, LLP Cabezas is represented by WME, Amotz Zakai of Echo Lake Management and Jackoway Tyerman.
