Latest deals for the romantic drama, which is helmed by Sandra Nettelbeck and scored by Hans Zimmer, were closed with Svensk Film (Scandinavia), Umbrella (Australia), Sterkinekor (South Africa), Peterpan Pictures (South Korea), Shoval (Israel), Cinema Nueva Era (Mexico), IFA (Argentina), Tucuman (Brazil), Cine Colombia (Colombia), Prime Pictures (Middle East) and Suraya Filem (Malaysia).
Pic, which also stars Clemence Poesy, was picked up by Image Entertainment in the U.S. prior to the market, along with distribs in Germany (Senator), Spain (A Contracorriente), Benelux (A-Film) and Turkey (MIR Productions).
The Juliette Binoche starrer “A Thousand Times Goodnight” was presold to Turkey (Bir Film), Israel (Shoval) and Latin America (HBO). At Berlin, the pic went to Spain (Golem), Benelux (Wild Bunch), Brazil (Art Film), Portugal (Lanterna de Pedra Filmes), Middle East (Italia Film) and Taiwan (Swallow Wings).
Bir Films also picked up the Irish production “Run & Jump,” which earned stellar reviews at Tribeca Film Festival.
A package of European dramas, including “Five Years,” “Allez, Eddy!” and “Ludwig II,” went to HBO, as did German hit comedy “Men Do What They Can.”
Iran’s Irib Media Trade picked up “Allez, Eddy!,” “Five Years” and “International Criminal Court.”
Julia Weber, head of theatrical sales at Global Screen, said, “Character-driven drama with an international cast attached continues to sell very well for us.”
