Michael Fassbender Gets In Over His Head in New ‘Counselor’ Trailer (VIDEO)

Pic also stars Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz

Having slowly rolled out its marketing campaign with a brief teaser and a handful of clips, Fox and New Regency have now released the first full-length trailer for Ridley Scott’s “The Counselor.”

The all-star cast includes Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz and follows a lawyer who bites off way more than he can chew when he decides to get into the drug business.

When Cormac McCarthy and his ICM Partners reps put the script on the market last year, it quickly turned into one of Hollywood’s hottest properties with a cast and crew coming together in record time.

Described as “No Country For Old Men” on steroids, the film is something the studio sees as an awards contender given the talent involved and the Academy’s interest in dark crime dramas like “No Country for Old Men” and “The Departed.”

The film bows on Oct. 25.
