Paul Mezey, an exec producer on Benh Zeitlin’s “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” has signed on as a producer in residence at Cinereach, the not-for-profit production company and foundation that produced Fox Searchlight’s “Beasts” along with Court 13.

Mezey, founder of Journeyman Pictures, also teamed with Cinereach on Joshua Marston’s “The Forgiveness of Blood” and Tom Gilroy’s “The Cold Lands,” which preems at Berlin. He produced “Half Nelson” and “Maria Full of Grace” via Journeyman.

Mezey will work on development, production and distribution of Cinereach’s productions and be involved in grant-making activities. Besides “Beasts,” Cinereach has supported more than 100 movies — including “Circumstance,” “Pariah,” “The World Before Her,” “Planet of Snail,” “Girl Model” and “Code of the West” — through its grants, fellowships and partnerships with Sundance Institute’s programs.
