‘Metallica Through the Never’ Set for Imax on Sept. 27

Film will be first release from relaunched Picturehouse

Nimrod Antal’s 3D “Metallica Through the Never” will receive a one-week Imax release Sept. 27, followed by an expansion into theaters via Picturehouse.

“Never,” starring Metallica and Dane DeHaan, is produced by Charlotte Huggins. Story follows a band crew member whose life is turned upside down when he’s sent on a mission during Metallica’s live set.

The band recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Picturehouse was relaunched in January by founder Bob Berney and its first theatrical release will be “Never.” Picturehouse has also acquired U.S. rights to Stephen Herek’s “The Great Gilly Hopkins,” currently in pre-production with Kathy Bates and Danny Glover starring.
