Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg Team Again on ‘American Desperado’

William Monahan will pen the script

Paramount has set Mark Wahlberg to star in the adaptation of the book “American Desperado” which will be directed by Peter Berg.

William Monahan (“The Departed”) is penning the script which is based on the Jon Roberts and Evan Wright book. Deadline Hollywood broke the news.

Based on Roberts life as a New York City gangster who ran guns for the CIA and smuggled cocaine and cash for the Medellín Cartel.

Wahlberg and Berg recently teamed up on the war drama “Lone Survivor” for Universal which bows this December.
