Robert Pattinson, Julianne Moore, John Cusack Set for ‘Maps to the Stars’

Sales will start at Cannes for the David Cronenberg's thriller

Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon will star in David Cronenberg’s thriller “Maps to the Stars.”

Entertainment One Films will co-finance with Martin Katz’s Prospero Pictures.

Project will be introduced at Cannes in May by eOne, which will handle worldwide sales and distribution in all media. “Stars” begins production in July in Toronto and Los Angeles.

Cronenberg has been developing the pic since 2006. He is directing from a script by Bruce Wagner about a ghost story and an attack on the celebrity-obsessed society of Los Angeles.

The film is produced by Katz together with SBS Prods.’ Said Ben Said. Sentient Entertainment’s Renee Tab, Cronenberg’s manager, will exec produce and Integral Films’ Alfred Hurmer is co-producing.

eOne will distribute “Maps to the Stars” in North America, the U.K. and Australia/New Zealand. Benedict Carver of eOne is exec producing and will oversee the film for the studio.

Katz previously collaborated with Cronenberg on “Spider,” “A Dangerous Method” and “Cosmopolis.”  Ben Said produced “Carnage” and “Possession” and Tab exec produced “Cosmopolis.”
