With the Sundance Film Festival launching, newly minted domestic distributor Exlusive Releasing has added Lejo Pet as VP of acquisitions.

Head of Acquisitions Matt Brodlie made the announcement Thursday, the first day of Sundance. Brodlie and Pet are attending and looking for available titles across all platforms.

Pet had been director of acqusitions at Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and was involved in the acquisition of “The Raid,” “Robot and Frank” and “Predestion.” He had worked at SPWA since 2006 after two years with Screen Gems.

Exclusive Media co-chairmen Nigel Sinclair and Guy East launched Exclusive Releasing during the Toronto International Film Festival with plans to theatrically distribute between three and four wide and platform releases per year, including Exclusive Media-produced films and third-party titles. The new company also plans to acquire films for accelerated-window and VOD releases, along with developing and acquiring alternative content like concert films and music documentaries.

In September, Exclusive Media also acquired a minority stake in Millennium Entertainment, which gives it access to Millennium’s home entertainment distribution systems to supplement Exclusive Releasing’s infrastructure.

SPWA announced earlier this week that it had brought on former Universal exec Chan Phung as VP of acquisitions.
