Lego’s Ninjago Movie Getting Animated At Warner Bros.

'Tron: Uprising' TV series director tapped

Warner Bros. is moving ahead on an animated movie version of Lego’s “Ninjago” with Charlie Bean tapped to direct.

Ninjago” will re-unite much of the creative team from Warner’s completed “The Lego Movie,” due out Feb. 7 as a computer-animated adventure-comedy. “Lego” is produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee and directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord with Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman.

The Hageman brothers are writing “Ninjago,” which has served as the basis for the Cartoon Network animated series “Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu,” which they also wrote. The movie will include ninjas, samurais and senseis facing off against dragons, snake men and an evil warlord.

Lin, Lee, Miller and Lord are producing “Ninjago.” Lego’s Jill Wilfert is executive producing. Courtenay Valenti is overseeing for the studio.

Bean’s credits include Disney XD’s animated series “Tron: Uprising” and Cartoon Network’s “Robotboy.”
