Kyra Sedgwick is set to star in the indie “Rays of Light” helmed by Batan Silva.

Better known for his work as a first assistant director, having most recently worked on a handful of Terrence Malick projects, the pic marks Silva’s directorial debut.

The film follows a dysfunctional family as they attempt to survive in their estate house after the sun dies. Sedgwick will play the matriarch of the family.

Production is expected to start later this month in Nashville.

With her TNT show “The Closer” ending its run, Sedgwick most recently wrapped production on the indie “Reach Me.”

Sedgwick is repped by Impression Entertainment, UTA & Schreck Rose Depello Adams.
