Joel McHale Joins Adam Sandler Comedy

Drew Barrymore is also on board

Joel McHale is in negotiations to join Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in the Warner Bros. untitled romantic comedy.

Frank Coraci will direct the pic from an original script by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera.

Story revolves around a couple who, after disastrous blind date, are stuck together in a family resort with their children from previous marriages.

McHale would play Barrymore’s ex-husband.

Happy Madison will produce along with Mike Karz and Josie Rosen is exec producing for Karz and Gulfstream Pictures. Production is set to start in May.

The WME-repped repped McHale has been busy mixing film roles with his TV shows “Community” and “The Soup.” He is currently filming “A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle.”
