While appearing on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” show, “The Newsroom” star Jeff Daniels gave fans of his and Jim Carrey’s 1994 comedy “Dumb & Dumber” a reason to get excited. He confirmed the sequel was moving forward, with plans to begin shooting in September.
Daniels was on the show to plug the latest season of his HBO drama, but says he had read the script for the new film and “it is hysterical.”
“So we’re middle-aged, we’re not pretending we’re not and we’re still that stupid,” Daniels said.
Daniels added that next year will be the 20th anniversary of when the first “Dumb & Dumber” was released. He said plan is to release the sequel to coincide with that anniversary.
Universal picked up the rights to “Dumb & Dumber To” after Warners Bros. put the pic into turnaround. Red Granite Pictures is on to finance the pic.
