‘Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ Adds ‘Heroes’ Actor Robert Knepper

Movies being shot back-to-back in Atlanta

Lionsgate has created a new character for its “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” movies and tapped “Prison Break” and “Heroes” actor Robert Knepper for the part.

He will portray the character Antonius in the two upcoming “Mockingjay” movies, which are being shot back-to-back in Atlanta.

Antonius is described only as a minister to Donald Sutherland’s President Snow. The character is not part of the Suzanne Collins’ “The Hunger Games” book series.

Lionsgate unveiled the casting on its “Hunter Games” Twitter account.

Aside from his TV credits, Knepper’s work includes films “Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters” and “R.I.P.D.”

The “Mockingjay” films, starring Jennifer Lawrence and directed by Francis Lawrence, will be released in November, 2014, and 2015 respectively. Shooting started in late September and will continue into the late spring.

The first two “Hunger Games” films have grossed nearly $1.4 billion combined.
