A trans-Atlantic influx of Hollywood’s finest descended upon London Sunday night, accompanied by rain, sleet and snow, for the annual British Academy Film Awards.

Post kudofest, weighed down with “Argo” glory and holding a golden mask in each hand, BAFTA virgin Ben Affleck headed over to the Grosvenor House Hotel to celebrate.

Fellow winners George Clooney, Anne Hathaway and Quentin Tarantino joined Affleck for the official dinner and afterparty.

Veteran host Stephen Fry was convinced it was a meteorological pull that had attracted the winning Hollywood pack to a bitterly cold London, slyly stating, “The weather, of course, is the key attraction of the BAFTAs. We rely on Americans wanting some really nice wind and sleet to take their minds off the glorious Hollywood weather.”

Guests emerging in the early hours of Monday morning saw London magically transformed, covered in a dusting of crisp snow.
