Bella Heathcote and Penelope Mitchell are heading to Downers Grove, signing on to topline Derick Martini’s indie thriller “The Curse of Downers Grove” opposite Lucas Till.

Oren Segal, Jason Dubin and Chiara Trento are producing, with lensing set for spring. Martini, who directed “Hick,” is helming from a script he co-wrote with Bret Easton Ellis, adapted from 2001’s Michael Hornburg novel. Story centers on a paranoid high school senior who’s worried about an apparent curse that takes the life of one student every year at the school.

Variety reported on Jan. 30 that Till (“X-Men: First Class,” “Paranoia”) had signed on for “Downers Grove” along with Jill Hennessy and Kevin Zegers.

Heathcote, an Australian native, was tapped one of Variety ‘s 10 Actors to Watch last year after starring in “Dark Shadows” and “Not Fade Away.” She’s a winner of the Heath Ledger Scholarship Award. Mitchell has a recurring role in the sci-fi series “Hemlock Grove.”

Heathcote is repped by WME, Medavoy Management and Joanna Milosz in Australia. Mitchell is repped by APA and Milosz in Australia. Till is repped by APA and Tom Sullivan at WCM Management.
