‘Guys and Dolls’: Fox Developing Remake

No talent or writer currently attached

20th Century Fox has closed a deal for the movie rights to the musical “Guys and Dolls.”

Fox will now begin developing the project with no writer, director or talent currently attached. Fox had been after the rights for several months but had to overcome several legal details before a deal could be closed.

Deadline Hollywood broke the news of the deal.

The familiar story follows a gambler who is challenged to take a cold female missionary as part of a bet to finance a crap game but falls for her instead.

MGM adapted the musical in 1955 with Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra starring in the story of a gambler who is challenged in a bet to take a female missionary to Cuba in hopes of financing a craps game, but falls for her instead.
