Glen Powell Joins ‘Expendables 3’ Cast As Shooting Nears

Gibson, Banderas, Ford joined last week

Casting for “The Expendables 3” is nearing completion with Glen Powell on board following recent additions Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford.

Filming starts Aug. 19 on the actionfest at Nu Image Studios in Bulgaria. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Dolph Lundgren and Victor Ortiz have also committed to the sequel, due to be released Aug. 15, 2014.

Powell, who appeared in “The Dark Knight Rises,” will play a leading role as a pilot, computer hacker and combat veteran.

The previous two “Expendables” ensemble actioners were released by Lionsgate in mid-August in 2010 and 2012 and have combined for $575 million worldwide.

Stallone announced earlier this year that Australian director Patrick Hughes would direct the third film, produced by Millennium Films. Stallone directed the first film, and Simon West helmed the second.
