Fox moves ‘Peabody’ to March 7, 2014

DreamWorks Animation film was originally slated for Nov. 21, 2013

Fox is pushing its third DreamWorks Animation film slated for this year, “Mr. Peabody and Sherman,” to March 7, 2014. As a result, the studio is bumping “Me and My Shadow” off next year’s calendar temporarily.

Originally dated for Nov. 21, “Mr. Peabody,” which tells the story of a boy and his genius pet dog, will bow during a time proven successful for Fox and DWA, the latter of which launched “How to Train Your Dragon” at around the same time in 2010.

If Fox decides to release “Me and My Shadow” in 2014, it will be the fourth DWA title to bow next year, along with “How to Train Your Dragon 2” (June 20), “Happy Smekday!” (Nov. 26) and “Sherman.”

Fox releases its first DWA film, “The Croods,” on March 22, followed by “Turbo” on July 19. Disney Animation’s “Frozen” now has the year-end holiday corridor to itself, though the Mouse has yet to settle on a specific date.
