FilmDistrict Co-Financing ‘The Last Word’

Horror project set for summer 2014 release

FilmDistrict will co-finance paranormal horror film “The Last Word” for domestic release in summer 2014.

Boss Media’s Frank Mancuso, Jr. will produce along with Eric Gores, Peter Facinelli and Rob DeFranco of A7SLE Films, and FilmDistrict’s Peter Schlessel and Lia Buman.

The project is set to start lensing this summer. The script, written by Ben Ketai,  will focus on the tragic aftermath endured by the participants in the trial of a young man in Texas who was wrongly convicted and executed for the rape and murder of a nun.

Facinelli’s A7SLE Films developed the story, then partnered with Boss Media and brought on Ketai.

Ketai’s credits includes Crackle’s “Chosen,” starring Milo Ventimiglia, and the FEARnet series “Devil’s Night” and “30 Days of Night.”

Boss Media is represented by Paradigm. Ketai and A7SLE Films are represented by APA.

Much of the appeal of the original “Aladdin” came thanks to the [...]
