EuropaCorp recruits Ellzey

Hollywood exec will work to double English-language film production

LYON, France – Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp has tapped Lisa Ellzey as exec VP of U.S. film production with plans to double the number of English-language movies it makes from its current three or four a year.

Los Angeles-based Ellzey was exec VP of production at Lionsgate and Twentieth Century Fox. Before that she was prexy of Scott Free Entertainment, where she produced nine films including “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” and “A Good Year.”

Exec will report to EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert, who said, “We are proud to have convinced such a highly-respected and admired Hollywood senior executive as Lisa to join our company. Her arrival will help the studio take its international production capacity to the next level.”

Via its co-production and co-financing deal, EuropaCorp is collaborating with Relativity Media on Robert De Niro starrer “Badfellas,” exec produced by Martin Scorsese, plus Kevin Costner starrer “Three Days to Kill.”
