DreamWorks Signs Carla Hacken to First Look Deal

Previous gigs include New Regency, Fox 2000, ICM

DreamWorks Studios has signed a first look deal with producer Carla Hacken through her Paper Pictures banner.

Hacken had previously served as president of production at New Regency. She also spent 15 years at Fox 2000 as exec VP of  production and worked on “The Devil Wears Prada,” (pictured) “Walk the Line,” “Unfaithful,” “In Her Shoes,” “The Family Stone,” and both the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Percy Jackson” franchises.

Before joining Fox, Hacken was a motion picture talent agent at ICM for a decade.

Hacken’s deal is the third first look for DreamWorks along with Mark Sourian and Kennedy/Marshall.

Hacken’s current projects include “The Leaves” for Lionsgate, “Kicked Out of Kindergarten” with Conde Nast Entertainment which Paul Weitz will write and direct, CBS Films’ “The Man Who Forgot His Wife,” “Before I Fall” based on the novel by Lauren Oliver, and “Seuss”  with Colin Firth attached.

Paper Pictures has hired Bronwyn North-Reist as a creative executive.
