Disney made some notable shifts Monday to its upcoming slate, including dating “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” for July 10, 2015, a return for the franchise to mid-summer after two previous installments set sail on Memorial Day weekend.

The Mouse also dated “The Muppets 2” for March 21, 2014, and moved its Sleeping Beauty 3D retooling “Maleficent” from a week prior to July 2, 2014. Also that year, Brad Bird’s George Clooney starrer “1952” will bow Dec. 19 in 3D.

Previously dated for Sept. 13, Disney pulled its “Little Mermaid” 3D reissue from the calendar, a move likely motivated by the soft box office performances of 3D conversions “Monsters, Inc.” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Disney currently has no plans to release “Little Mermaid” in 3D theatrically.

A couple of the studio’s original 2014 tentpoles from Marvel, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,” will get the 3D treatment. Pics’ release dates — April 4 and August 1, respectively — are unchanged.
