Christian Bale Back as Batman in ‘The Dark Knight’ Ultimate Collector’s Edition

Christopher Nolan and Richard Donner to discuss how they brought Batman and Superman to the big screen in new documentary

Christian Bale may not be suiting up as Batman in future films, but the trilogy he did star in is getting repackaged by Warner Bros. as an “ultimate collector’s edition,” complete with two new documentaries.Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release the six-disc set on Blu-ray on Sept. 24, for $99.97.

Set will include Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” as well as three discs of special features for the films, including:

■ “The Fire Rises: The Creation and Impact of ‘The Dark Knight’ Trilogy:” An inside perspective on the story behind the creation of the trilogy with new footage, rare moments, and exclusive interviews with Guillermo Del Toro, Damon Lindelof, Michael Mann, Richard Roeper, Zack Snyder, among others.

■ “Christopher Nolan & Richard Donner: A Conversation” will feature Nolan and Richard Donner discussion for the first time how they brought Batman and Superman to the big screen, with Nolan noting how “Superman” influenced the helmer when developing “Batman Begins.”

■ The Hot Wheels versions of the Batmobile, Batpod and Tumbler by Mattel

■ Newly commissioned collectible art cards by Mondo featuring the Scarecrow, Joker, Bane, Harvey Dent, and Ra’s al Ghul characters

■ A 48-page hardcover book featuring production stills and behind the scenes images from all three movies

■ “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight RisesBlu-rays will also feature sequences shot using Imax cameras in the original Imax aspect ratio.
