Canon’s Project Imaginat10n Film Contest, the cameramaker’s user-generated contest designed to inspire short films based on crowdsourced photos, has announced five winning directors.

Ron Howard, Bryce Dallas Howard and a panel of judges narrowed the list of 20 finalists down to five. The project also invited Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Georgina Chapman, Biz Stone and James Murphy to direct short films based on the photos.

One of the winners is Julian Higgins, who directed “Here and Now” (pictured above) starring Abigail Spencer and Josh Pence.

Another winner, sci-fi “Day in the Country” by Kalman Apple, stars Shannon Lucio, Riley Smith  and Craig Stark.

The three other winners are “Dominus” by Arrius Sorbonne, “Chucked” by Jared Nelson and “Filter” by Ronnie Allman.

The five films will screen along with those directed by  celebrity directors at the Canon Project Imaginat10n Film Festival as part of “The Ron Howard Presentation” later this fall.
