Bhattacharjee, 53, who appeared in such films as “Casino Royale,” “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and series like “The East Enders” and “MI-5,” was reported missing from London last week. On Friday, police in Seaford, East Sussex, found the body that matched his description. On July 16 Stephen Fry and other Blighty bizzers tweeted their concern about his disappearance, and on July 17 Scotland Yard was informed about the discovery.
The actor was last heard from after a rehearsal for “Talk Show” at the Royal Court when he sent a text to his girlfriend, according to published reports. The role was recast in the play, which opened July 16.
The Indian origin thesp’s credits included stage perfs in last year’s all-Asian cast of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s “Much Ado About Nothing.”
