Anna Kendrick in Talks to Play Cinderella in ‘Into the Woods’

Pic currently stars Johnny Depp and Emily Blunt

Disney continues to build a strong ensemble for its upcoming adaptation of the Broadway play “Into the Woods” with Anna Kendrick in talks to play Cinderella in the pic.

Film currently stars Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt with Rob Marshall directing.

Into the Woods” is based on Stephen Sondheim’s 1987 Broadway musical.  David Krane (“Chicago,” “Nine”) is the music arranger on the film, which will rely on Sondheim’s original music.

Musical revolves around a childless baker and his wife who attempt to lift a family curse by journeying into the woods to confront the witch that put the spell on them. Along the way, they encounter Rapunzel, Cinderella, “Jack and the Beanstalk’s” Jack Little Red Riding Hood and other classic fairy tale characters.

Pic is dated for Dec. 25, 2015.

Choice makes sense after Kendrick wowed crix and audience members in the surprise hit “Pitch Perfect” and looks to show off her vocal talents again.

Kendrick is repped by CAA.
