Andy Fickman has come on to direct the adaptation of the musical “Lysistrata Jones.”
Pic is based on the Douglas Carter Beane( who will write the film) and Lewis Flinn tuner that centers on a group of high school cheerleaders who refuse to “give it up” until their basketball-player boyfriends score on the court. The musical parallels the plot of Aristophanes’ ancient Greek comedy “Lysistrata.”
Mitchell Peck and J. Todd Harris will produce the film through their banners, Peck Entertainment and Branded Pictures Entertainment.
“I love this play and the music by Lewis Flinn. I’m confident this is a timely musical comedy that will resonate with young adult and teen audiences alike. I can’t wait to work with this team on the movie,” Fickman said in a statement.
The WME-repped Fickman most recently directed “Parental Guidance” for Fox.
