AFM: ‘Wolf Creek 2’ Gets U.S. Distribution

Release set for 2014

Image Entertainment has  acquired U.S. rights to horror thriller “Wolf Creek 2” at the American Film Market.

The Australian production reteams original director Greg Mclean and star John Jarratt as the serial killer in the Australian outback.  Shannon Ashlyn, Ryan Corr, and Phillipe Klaus co-star.

Wolf Creek 2,” scheduled for a 2014 release, is co-written by Mclean and Aaron Sterns and produced by Helen Leake, Steve Topic and Mclean.

“Wolf Creek 2” screened out of competition at this year’s Venice Film Festival. Guy Lodge said in his Variety review at Venice, “Neither as striking nor as fundamentally scary as its predecessor, this pumped-up, robustly crafted pic is still quite a ride.”

The deal was negotiated by Mark Ward, Jess De Leo and Bromiley on behalf of RLJ Entertainment, by Ben Weiss at Paradigm, and by Peter Nelson and Joel VanderKloot at Nelson Davis Wetzstein LLP on behalf of the filmmakers.
