Story set in Los Angeles underground art world

Vertical Entertainment has acquired U.S. rights to thriller “Dark Hearts,” starring Lucas Till (“X Men”), Kyle Schmid, Goran Visnjic and Rachel Blanchard.

Vision Films is selling international territories at the American Film Market.

“Dark Hearts” marks Rudolf Buitendach’s directorial debut, is penned by Christian Piers Betley. It’s produced by Jack Bowyer and in association with Boundless Pictures’ partners Courtney Lauren Penn and Brandon Burrows along with Kees van Oostrum and Alexis Varouxakis.

Story is set in the underground Los Angeles art scene with Schmid and Till cast as brothers drawn into a woman’s  web of thrill-seeking, murder and inspiration.

Vertical Entertainment also acquired all U.S. rights to the college comedy “Hairbrained,” starring Brendan Fraser  and Alex Wolff. Directed by Billy Kent and written by Sarah Bird, Adam Wierzbianski and Kent, “Hairbrained” has been scheduled for release in February.

“Hairbrained” was produced by Sarah Bird, Billy Kent and Avram Ludwig.  Premiere Entertainment is handling international sales at AFM.
