Adam Sandler is attached to star in Universal’s “Hello Ghost” with Chris Columbus on board to direct.

The pic is a remake of the Korean comedy and Universal has optioned the remake rights. Sandler will produce through his Happy Madison banner along with Jack Giarraputo while Columbus will produce through his 1492 Pictures banner. CJ Entertainment will co-produce.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news.

The original South Korean pic was written and directed by Kim Yeong-tak and follows a man, who after trying to kill himself, is plagued by the arrival of four ghosts who insist that he help them amend their past before they leave him in peace.

VP of production Maradith Frenkel and creative executive Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for Universal.

Sandler and Columbus are both repped by WME. Sandler is currently filming the WB comedy “Blended” with Drew Barrymore.
