Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore reteam for untitled comedy

Frank Coraci will direct the film

Adam Sandler is reteaming with a familiar co-star for his untitled comedy: Drew Barrymore.

Variety reported when the film was first announced that Barrymore was considered a front-runner for the female lead.

Frank Coraci will direct the pic from an original script by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera.

Story revolves around a couple who, after disastrous blind date, are stuck together in a family resort with their children from previous marriages.

Happy Madison will produce along with Mike Karz, and Josie Rosen is exec producing for Karz and Gulfstream Pictures. Production is set to start in May.

Sandler is going back to a familiar team for the pic, as he’s worked with Coraci three times and with Barrymore on “50 First Dates” and “The Wedding Singer.” Both films grossed more than $100 million worldwide.

The CAA-repped Barrymore was most recently seen in Universal’s “Big Miracle.”
