‘A Haunted House’ Leads To First-Look Pact For Open Road, IM Global

Sequel set to open March 28

Following the success of IM Global’s “A Haunted House,” Open Road Films has agreed to a first-look U.S. distribution agreement for select financed and produced films from the company.

Marlon Wayans’ “House” opened to $19 million at the U.S. box office and cumed over $40 million along with another $20 million overseas.

A sequel is in the works. Produced and financed by IM Global with Open Road Films distributing in the U.S., it will bow on March 28, 2014.

IM Global topper Stuart Ford said, “Open Road has established itself as a preeminent mini-major in the U.S. distribution arena and it will be a privilege for many of our forthcoming releases to be handled by Tom Ortenberg and his team.”
