‘What Maisie Knew’ to Open San Francisco Film Festival

'Before Midnight' set as closing night title

What Maisie Knew” has been tapped as the opening night film of the San Francisco International Film Festival on April 25 at the Castro Theater.

Scott McGehee and David Siegel’s drama, starring Julianne Moore, Steve Coogan and Alexander Skarsgard, premiered in September at Toronto. It’s set for domestic release on May 3 from Millennium Entertainment.

The festival, now in its 56th year, has also set a Centerpiece screening on May 4 of Jacob Kornbluth’s “Inequality For All,”  featuring economist Robert Reich.

The festival will close May 9 with Richard Linklater’s “Before Midnight,” the third film in the director’s romantic trilogy starring Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke.
